1. Response to an outrageous, unforgivable insult prompting defense of one’s honor or reputation through fistfighting or other form of hand-to-hand combat.
Example:
‘EY!!! I heard ‘dat, whatchu said about ma sista! LIKE BEEF o’ wot?

2. Used in jest, feigning an indignant response, in a teasing manner, e.g. with small children.
Example:
Huuuii!!! Loke girl, why you trowin’ punches at Uncle? You mad o’ sumt’ing? LIKE BEEF?

In reference to engagement in the exchange of blows with another person. Often interchangeable with ‘Like Scrap?’.
Examples:
a. Why cuz, you like beef?! I no think so, so you bettah give me that controller right now cause it’s my turn.
b. Unless you like beef, bettah change the channel to the game.
c. Eh, give’um back! Like beef or wot?

Examples:

b. Dis sucka LIKE BEEF, but da ada bradas no like mess wid him because he stay da bes boxa in da neighbahood.
